TASKey TEAM 4 uses three main components:
- a Database server (MS-SQL server)
- a Web Server
- Browsers on Client Machines or Mobile devices
Only browsers are needed to use TASKeyTEAM Online, as this is hosted by Taskey. Server requirements are for the Enterprise version which is installed on the customer organisations server(s).
Database server and Web server capacity depends on the number of users concurrently accessing the database. Usage patterns vary widely between organizations and different levels of activity. However as a guide, a single server is sufficient to handle 1000 users.
For installations up to 1000 users, the Database server and Web Server may be run on the same computer.
For installations with more than 1000 users, it is recommended that separate computers be used for the Database server and Web Servers.
Further scaling using Network Load Balancing can be used for very large numbers of users or high availability solutions.
Client Web Browser Requirements
- Windows: Microsoft Internet Explorer 6/7, Firefox 2/3, Safari 3
- Macintosh: Safari 3, Firefox 2/3
- Screen resolution: 1024x768 (or higher)
- Colour depth: 256 colours (High Color or better highly recommended)
- Both Cookies and JavaScript must be enabled
- If your Internet Explorer browser does not have "play animation in web pages" ticked under Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced -> Mutimedia (in list)...then you cannot see the Print icons when you open/generate a normal TEAM report (eg. ToDo List)
- The mobile pages are optimised for less bandwith, smaller screens and less advanced browsers
Minimum Server Requirements
Up to 500 Users:
Application server:
- Pentium with dual core 3GHz or greater
- 2GB RAM
- 10GB available hard disk space
- Microsoft Windows 2003 Server Service Pack 1 or greater
- Microsoft Internet Information Server 6 (see note 1)
- Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (see note 2)
- Microsoft ASP.NET Framework 3.5
Note:
1) TASKey TEAM can be installed on Microsoft Windows XP Professional with the IIS 5 module installed. Please consult your Microsoft documentation on how to install IIS 5. Be aware that this combination has a limit of 10 connections at any one time, and each client instance of TASKey TEAM will use several connections at once. It can also be installed on Windows Vista with IIS7 installed (with similar considerations in mind).
2) For sites without Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or greater, the Microsoft SQL Express 2005/2008 database may be deployed. MS-SQL Express database server is a cut-down version of MS-SQL Server, and is tuned for small numbers of users. If you license Microsoft SQL Server at a later stage, the data in MS-SQL Express can be transferred to the new database server.

More than 1000 users:
Further scaling using Network Load Balancing can be used for very large numbers of users or high availability solutions. More webservers and more CPUs for the database server can be added as load requirements increase with added users. The first step is to separate the webserver and the database server as shown below.
